How to Preserve Camera Settings

  • Open the Settings app.
  • Tap Camera.
  • Select Preserve Settings.

  • Toggle on the settings you want to make standard.
  • Your options are: Camera Mode, which preserves the last mode, such as Video or Square, instead of automatically resetting to Photo.
  • There’s also Filter, which automatically applies the last filter you used.

  • And lastly, Live Photo, which remembers if you’ve turned Live Photo off and doesn't turn it back on automatically.
