I've been using Nomad cables for quite a while, because they last quite a while. Unlike the included Apple cables which always seem to fray at the ends, the Nomad cables are rugged, made with woven fabric and solid connectors. So I wasn't sure that they could be improved. But the new Kevlar-coated USB-C to Lightning Cables (starting at $39.95) show that they can indeed be improved.

Nomad added Kevlar coating to its cables. Yes, that's the same technology used in bullet-proof vests. Sure, you won't need or use the cable for protection from bullets, but that technology should help ensure your cable lasts as long as the USB standards do. Which brings me to the connector. Nomad now has a USB-C to Lightning cable, in assorted lengths, so you can leverage high power charging, up to 18 watts, and keep your phone's battery at peak capacity. Plus the cables look great, which is a plus!
Pros
- Robust woven design
- Strong connectors
- Kevlar for added protection
- Multiple sizes available
- Cable organizer included
Cons
- More expensive than traditional cables
Final Verdict
The Kevlar-coated USB-C to Lightning Cables from Nomad aren't cheap, but you won't need to replace them!
